بر طبق مبحث 14
سرعت در کانال با کلاس فشار 0.5 تا 10 متر بر ثانیه یا 2000 فوت بر دقیقه
سرعت در کانال با کلاس فشار 1 و 2 تا 12.7 متر بر ثانیه یا 2500 فوت بر دقیقه
سرعت در کانال با کلاس فشار 3 و 4 تا 20 متر بر ثانیه یا 4000 فوت بر دقیقه
جدول زیر سرعت هوا بر اساس استاندارد آمریکا است که با مقادیر بالا مطابقت دارد

- “STD” denotes standard (nonvariable volume) air duct construction requirements (regardless of actual velocity level) for compliance with this document for all cases in which the designer does not designate the pressure classification for the duct system independent of fan static rating. “STV” denotes the standard construction classification for variable volume ducts for compliance with this document when the designer does not designate a class for this application. - “A” denotes other pressure classes for which construction or installation details are given in this document and are AVAILABLE for designation in contract documents prepared by designers.

زانویی کانال اگر قطر داخلی کمتر از نصف قطر خارجی داشته باشد زانویی شعاع بلند یا استاندارد محسوب نمی شود و باید درون آن تیغه هدایت جریان نصب کرد محل این تیغه با توجه به نمودار زیر تعیین می گردد

انشعاب از کانال
یک کانال با ضخامت مشخص همیشه نمی تواند با هر طولی ساخته شود و برای خم نشدن باید در فواصل مشخص آن را برید و با قفلهایی از تا کردن کانال و تسمه و نبشی به هم وصل کرد جدول زیر نوع استحکام خمشی لازم این قفلها را با توجه به ضخامت ورق نشان می دهد فشار کاری را برای تهویه که نمی دانیم 1 اینچ و برای سیستم تهویه حجم متغیر 2 اینچ می گیرند

NOTES:
- Dimensions other than hanger spacings are in millimeters.
- Tables allow for duct weight, 4.89 Kg/m2 insulation weight and normal reinforcement and trapeze weight, but no external loads!
- For custom design of hangers, designers may consult SMACNA’s Rectangular Industrial Duct Standards, the AISI Cold Formed Steel Design Manual and the AISC Steel Construction Manual.
- Straps are galvanized steel; other materials are uncoated steel.
- Allowable loads for P/2 assume that ducts are 1.61 mm maximum, except that when maximum duct dimension (w) is over 1520 mm then p/2 maximum is 1.25 w.
